2013-05-21 - LRPOA Awarded $25,000 Grant

The province of Ontario launched "The Great Lakes Guardian Community Fund" to support the ecological health of the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence basin. The purpose is to provide support to local community groups to help preserve or restore their own corner of the Great Lakes. Since our lakes qualify as headwater to the Great Lakes, we were successful in obtaining a $25,000 grant. These funds will be used for extensive water testing, developing long term plans, and education programs to help us protect the Lakes. This grant would not have been possible without the assistance of the Walkerton Water Centre and the Municipality of Brockton.
