News > 2021-08-13 - Hanover Fire and Water Rescue Training

What: Hanover Fire Water Rescue Training
When: August 17th and 18th
Time: 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Where: Lake Rosalind

Staff from the Hanover Fire and Rescue will be at Lake Rosalind on the above dates and times for the purpose of boat based water rescue training. The exercises will primarily include patients in the water. These will be live simulations and as a result the boat will be operating at full speed. The boat will approach the patients and extricate them from the water. The boat will follow the flow of traffic on the lake when approaching the patients. A direct path to the shore will be utilized to simulate movement of the patients to Emergency Medical Services on shore. There will be numerous exercises to ensure that staff have an opportunity to complete each position within the rescue setting.

The boat itself will have emergency response lights on during the operations to signal to other boaters.

We are sending this information forward so that residents are not concerned or alarmed thinking that there may be a serious occurrence on the lake. We have been advised that boating as usual can continue, however, caution and respect must be followed as well as distancing when training is taking place. Please do not make any attempt to interfere with the training.

A photo of the boat is attached so that you can be on the lookout for this vessel on our lake on the specified dates and times.
